My, my, I didn’t know you had such a crush on the Goracle! Seems like every picture I see of him lately, he needs to be put on the FugGirls Bloat Watch. Every time I read that comment you left today, I laughed! Thanks for making my day!
Hey Laurie, don’t miss Kyle Smith’s piece in today’s WSJ about “Get Smart”….that should get your ribald group of 60s sit-commers going! You can find the link to the article at my blog.

I too fell victim to the Jingle Jump craze (that lasted for about 5 minutes). All the kids in the neighborhood had to have this toy. I must have bugged the crap out of my parents to get it cause we usually wouldn’t get toys until Christmas. I remember is was a fun toy and we all jumped our butts off! Another toy we all had to have was a twirling baton. Not that we had any great ambitions to be drum majorettes but we loved the illusion (wrist action) of the baton twirling faster than we could possibly twirl it! That fad didn’t last too long either! I think we were afraid to throw the baton in the air and catch it cause we’d probably miss and have it land on our heads!

Happy birthday, Laurie!
I was surfing the net today and learned that you and I share the same birthdate, so the very least I could do is offer you best wishes for the day!
