The Weather Channel & Gustav’s Projected Path

A major storm is brewing in the Gulf of Mexico.

It’s name is Gustav.

And already it’s potential makes us hearken back to the late summer of 2005 when three Mega Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma also took dead aim along the Gulf Coast.

Conditions are prime Gustav to strengthen. The waters in the Gulf are warm and there’s a lot of open water which would allow the storm to become a behemoth. In fact, experts say Gustav could make landfall possibly as a strong Category 4…maybe even a Category 5.

Either way, the damage from a storm that intense would be catastrophic.

The projected path is a familiar one–not all that different from it’s swirling predecessors in years past. As for where Gustav will come ashore? It’s anyone’s guess at this juncture, but forecasters say it could make landfall anywhere from Corpus Christi to Pensacola, Florida with a strong possibility of taking dead aim at New Orleans.

That’s the LAST thing that city needs.

Why?

Why is Mother Nature so angry at New Orleans and the state of Louisiana?

This hatred is evident in The Weather Channel’s most recent update regarding Gustav’s projected path.

.

.

Good luck, Gulf Coast and Godspeed.

Ugh. There’s another hurricane doing some mild sprinkling along the east coast and dropping tornados in North Carolina. Like I don’t worry enough? *shakes fist at mother nature*

There are times when I really wish I lived in a tropical/not-winter-bound environment…and then there are times when I think “bring on the snow, it’s less likely to wipe out my domicile”.

    Good luck and Godspeed indeed!
